People with CCN are unable to meet the majority of their daily communication needs with natural speech. At The Bridge School, our students have CCN due to severe speech and physical impairments (e.g., neurological disorders such as cerebral palsy). These individuals, and the people in their lives, need specialized instruction so they can learn how to communicate effectively across partners, contexts and purposes.

All individuals with CCN require the use of alternative and augmentative (AAC) systems and strategies to bypass, overcome, or augment their natural speech.
